Emergency Dental Services

Our most important concern is the comfort of our patients. Emergency dental problems are handled as quickly as possible. Patients who call our office with an emergency during regular business hours are offered an appointment immediately. After hours, our dentists are on call 24 hours a day for after-hours emergency care for their patients.

Diagnostic Exams and X-rays

Our doctors carefully examine all patients to determine their treatments needs and desires. When necessary, our general dentists consult our specialty staff to accurately determine treatment requirements.

Diagnostic x-rays are essential to providing accurate information to the dentist. With this information, our doctors can render a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Our office is equipped with the most modern x-ray units. These units take the appropriate x-rays with a minimum of x-ray exposure to the patient.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings, which are applied to the chewing surface of the back teeth to prevent decay. Children between the ages of five and fourteen benefit most from sealants. Adults that are cavity prone may also benefit from sealants. After an examination by your dentist it can be determined which teeth can be sealed.

Crowns, Bridges and Restorations

Crowns are restorations that cover a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size. It can strengthen or improve the appearance of a tooth. Crowns may be fabricated from different materials depending on the location, color or shade and function of the tooth. A bridge is a restoration, which closes spaces where one or more teeth have been lost. There are two types of bridges–fixed and removable. Fixed bridges are bonded into place and can only be removed by a dentist. The patient can remove a removable bridge. Removable bridges, also known as partial dentures, are not as desirable as fixed bridges due to a decrease in stability.

Composite bonding is a plastic material called resin. The bonding process involves etching the tooth surface with a conditioning solution that allows the bonding material (composite resins) to adhere. To match your own teeth, your dentist carefully blends various color resins so the bonded tooth will look completely natural. After application, your dentist will contour the resin into the proper shape and harden it using a special light or chemical process. Your dentist then smoothes and polishes the bonded tooth so that it appears natural.
